American Fruit Drink 2

American Fruit Drink 2 emerges from the heart of American home kitchens, where simplicity meets tradition. Born from the need to quench thirst without fuss, it’s a staple at family dinners and summer barbecues. This drink is crafted with a pinch of salt, a nod to the generous, open-handed cooking style that defines many American family kitchens.

Expect a bright, refreshingly sweet-tart flavor that balances perfectly between the citrusy zing of lemons or oranges and the gentle sweetness of sugar. The drink is served ice-cold, a cooling refuge during hot days, and a simple pleasure shared among friends and family gathered around the table.

Ingredients

  • 4lemons or oranges
  • 100 gsugar
  • 1 Lwater
  • as neededice

Method

  1. Begin by preparing the citrus fruits. Take 4 lemons or oranges and roll them firmly on the countertop to release their juices. Cut each fruit in half and use a juicer or reamer to extract the juice into a large pitcher. Strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any seeds or pulp, ensuring a smooth drink.
  2. Measure 100 g of sugar and add it to the pitcher with the citrus juice. Stir gently with a wooden spoon until the sugar begins to dissolve. The sugar should blend into the juice, creating a slightly thicker consistency and a balanced sweetness.
  3. Pour 1 L of water into the pitcher with the citrus juice and sugar. Stir the mixture gently to combine, ensuring that the sugar is fully dissolved. The liquid should appear clear and uniform, indicating that the sugar has been properly integrated.
  4. Chill the mixture by placing the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. This allows the flavors to meld and the drink to become refreshingly cold. The drink is ready when it feels cool to the touch and has a crisp, invigorating aroma.
  5. Before serving, fill each glass with ice as needed to keep the drink cold. Pour the chilled fruit drink over the ice, filling each glass to the brim. The ice should clink gently as the liquid is poured, and the drink should have a bright, inviting color.
  6. Serve immediately in traditional glassware to capture the essence of American home cooking. The drink should be enjoyed fresh, with the citrus aroma wafting from the glass, inviting everyone to gather around and share in the refreshing experience.
