Indian Nut Sweet 2

Serves 4 to 6 Dessert vegetarian, Desserts

Indian Nut Sweet 2

Indian Nut Sweet 2 captures the essence of home-style Indian cooking, where precision is guided by instinct rather than strict measurements. This dish is a staple in many Indian households, cherished during festive occasions and family gatherings. It represents the comforting embrace of tradition, where the salt is judged by hand and generosity with ingredients is encouraged.

Expect a delightful balance of rich, buttery notes intermingling with the nutty sweetness that defines this dessert. The texture is both tender and satisfyingly dense, offering a perfect bite every time. It's a dish meant for sharing, spreading joy and indulgence across the table with each serving.

Ingredients

  • 200 gnuts — chopped
  • 150 gsugar
  • 100 gbutter
  • 2eggs
  • 100 gflour

Method

  1. Begin by taking 2 eggs and 100 g of butter out of the refrigerator. Allow them to come to room temperature, which ensures that the butter is soft and the eggs mix smoothly into the batter. This step is crucial for achieving a uniform texture in the final sweet.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the 100 g of butter gently. Once melted, add 150 g of sugar and stir continuously until the sugar dissolves completely, forming a smooth syrup. The mixture should be glossy and free of sugar granules, indicating that it's ready for the next step.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool slightly. Then, beat the 2 eggs into the syrup one at a time, whisking vigorously to prevent the eggs from cooking. This creates a rich, custard-like base essential for binding the nuts and flour together.
  4. Gradually fold in 100 g of flour into the mixture, ensuring no lumps remain. The batter should be thick and smooth, indicating that the flour is fully incorporated. This step is important for the structure of the sweet.
  5. Stir in 200 g of nuts, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter. The nuts should be well-coated with the mixture, which will help them adhere during baking.
  6. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish generously with butter to prevent sticking. Pour the batter into the dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, indicating the sweet is fully cooked. The edges should be slightly crisp, providing a delightful contrast to the chewy center.
  8. Allow the Indian Nut Sweet 2 to cool slightly before cutting into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature, which enhances the flavors and makes it perfect for sharing with family and friends.
