Pakistani Nut Sweet 2

Pakistani Nut Sweet 2 reflects the vibrant culinary traditions found across Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Islamabad. Often prepared in homes with a keen eye for balance, this dish graces the table as a shared indulgence. Crafted by hand and seasoned with a pinch of intuition, it celebrates the art of generous cooking, capturing the essence of family kitchens where the recipe is passed down and lovingly adapted.

Expect a delightful harmony of crunchy nuts, buttery richness, and a tender crumb, all brought together with a sweet, satisfying finish. Each bite offers a comforting contrast between the crispness of the nuts and the soft, yielding texture of the sweet base, inviting everyone to savor its decadence.

Ingredients

  • 200 gnuts — chopped
  • 150 gsugar
  • 100 gbutter
  • 2eggs
  • 100 gflour

Method

  1. Begin by taking 2 eggs and 100 g of butter out of the refrigerator to bring them to room temperature. This step ensures that the eggs mix smoothly and the butter blends evenly into the batter, which is crucial for the texture of your sweet.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt 100 g of butter. Once melted, add 150 g of sugar and stir continuously until the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture becomes a smooth syrup. This process should result in a glossy, amber-colored syrup without any graininess.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the syrup to cool slightly. Once it is warm but not hot, whisk in the 2 room-temperature eggs one at a time. This gradual incorporation prevents the eggs from curdling and ensures a smooth, custard-like consistency.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the syrup mixture with 100 g of flour. Stir gently until the flour is fully incorporated and the batter is smooth. The batter should have a thick, pourable consistency, indicating that it is ready for the next step.
  5. Fold in 200 g of nuts into the batter, ensuring they are evenly distributed. The nuts should be coated with the batter, which will help them adhere and provide a crunchy texture in the final sweet.
  6. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish generously with butter, then pour the batter into the dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula. This ensures even baking and a uniform texture throughout.
  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, indicating that the sweet has set properly. This should result in a firm yet tender texture.
  8. Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. The sweet should be warm, with a slightly crisp exterior and a soft, nutty interior, making it perfect for sharing at the table.
