Brasileiro Beef Skewers 2

Brasileiro Beef Skewers 2 captures the essence of Brazilian home cooking, where simplicity meets tradition. Often served during casual family meals, these skewers bring a touch of celebratory flavor to any weekday table. With its roots in everyday Brazilian kitchens, this dish reflects the intuitive cooking style passed down through generations, where salt is judged by hand and fat is never spared.

Expect tender beef cubes, deeply flavored with cumin and charred to perfection. The onion adds a subtle sweetness, harmonizing with the smoky notes of the grill. Each bite is a taste of comfort and familiarity, inviting you to share and savor the meal with those around you, just as it's done in Brazilian homes.

Ingredients

  • 800 gbeef cubes
  • 1onion
  • 2 tbspoil
  • 1 tspcumin
  • as neededskewers
  • to tastefine sea salt and black pepper

Method

  1. Start by seasoning 800 g of beef cubes with fine sea salt, black pepper, and 1 tsp of cumin. Make sure each cube is evenly coated with the spices to ensure a balanced flavor throughout the skewers.
  2. Peel and finely chop 1 onion. Set aside for later use. The onion will add a subtle sweetness and depth to the dish.
  3. Thread the seasoned beef cubes onto skewers, leaving a small space between each piece to allow for even cooking. This spacing helps the heat circulate around each piece, ensuring a uniform cook.
  4. In a large skillet or grill pan, heat 2 tbsp of oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully add the skewers. Brown the beef cubes on all sides, turning them occasionally, until they develop a deep, rich color. This browning creates a flavorful crust on the meat.
  5. Once browned, reduce the heat to medium and continue to cook the skewers until the beef is tender. The meat should feel firm yet yield slightly when pressed, indicating it's cooked through but still juicy.
  6. Remove the skewers from the pan and let them rest for a few minutes. This resting period allows the juices to redistribute within the meat, keeping it moist.
  7. Taste a piece of beef for seasoning, adding more salt if necessary. Serve the skewers with rice, bread, or a fresh salad, inviting everyone to share in this traditional Brazilian meal.
