Eastern European Shrimp Pan 2

Eastern European Shrimp Pan 2 finds its roots in the heart of home kitchens, where family cooks have long perfected the art of seasoning by instinct and sharing by tradition. This dish is not bound by a specific holiday but graces tables whenever there's a desire for a communal feast, with each cook adding their own touch of salt and spice.

Expect a vibrant dance of flavors, where juicy shrimp bathed in olive oil meet the sharpness of garlic and the zing of fresh lemon juice. A hint of chili weaves through to awaken the senses, inviting you to savor each bite slowly, as the warmth of shared moments surrounds the table.

Ingredients

  • 600 gshrimp
  • 4 clovesgarlic
  • 80 mlolive oil
  • lemonjuiced
  • to tastechili
  • to tastefine sea salt

Method

  1. Begin by cleaning the shrimp: remove the shells and devein them if necessary. Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. This ensures they cook evenly and absorb the flavors better.
  2. In a large skillet, pour 80 ml of olive oil and set the heat to medium. Once the oil is shimmering, add 4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped. Stir gently until the garlic becomes fragrant and lightly golden, which will infuse the oil with its flavor.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer, ensuring each piece has contact with the hot oil. Sprinkle with fine sea salt to taste and a pinch of chili for heat. Cook the shrimp, stirring occasionally, until they turn pink and are just opaque in the center. This indicates they are perfectly cooked and tender.
  4. Squeeze the juice of one lemon over the shrimp, stirring to coat them evenly. This will add brightness and balance to the dish.
  5. Taste a piece of shrimp and adjust the seasoning with more salt if needed. Serve immediately, allowing the flavors to be enjoyed at their peak.
