Indian Beef Skewers 3

Indian Beef Skewers 3 brings the warmth of Indian home kitchens to your table. Traditionally prepared by home cooks, this dish embraces the simplicity and generosity of ingredients. Salt is measured by intuition, and fat is not spared, ensuring each bite is a celebration of flavor. These skewers are a staple at family dinners, embodying the essence of everyday Indian cooking.

The skewers offer a robust taste, with tender beef cubes infused with the earthy notes of cumin and the sweetness of caramelized onions. A hint of black pepper adds subtle heat, creating a harmonious balance. As you savor each skewer, the flavors dance together, making it an inviting centerpiece for any shared meal.

Ingredients

  • 800 gbeef cubes
  • 1onion
  • 2 tbspoil
  • 1 tspcumin
  • as neededskewers
  • to tastefine sea salt and black pepper

Method

  1. Begin by placing 800 g of beef cubes in a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle with fine sea salt and black pepper to taste, ensuring each piece is evenly coated. Add 1 tsp of cumin and mix thoroughly with your hands, massaging the spices into the meat to enhance flavor penetration.
  2. Peel and finely chop 1 onion. In a large skillet or frying pan, heat 2 tbsp of oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil shimmers, add the chopped onion and sauté until it turns golden brown, releasing its sweet aroma.
  3. Increase the heat to high and add the seasoned beef cubes to the pan in a single layer. Allow them to brown without stirring for a couple of minutes, ensuring each piece develops a deep, rich color on one side before turning.
  4. Once all sides of the beef cubes are browned, reduce the heat to medium. If you prefer a braised texture, add a splash of water or broth to the pan, cover, and let the beef simmer gently until tender, stirring occasionally. Alternatively, if grilling, thread the beef onto skewers and place them on a preheated grill, turning occasionally until cooked through.
  5. Check the beef for tenderness by piercing a piece with a fork; it should be easy to insert. Taste a piece and adjust the seasoning with more salt or pepper if needed. Serve the Indian Beef Skewers hot with rice, bread, or a fresh salad, inviting everyone to share in the meal.
