Pakistani Lamb Chops 2

Pakistani Lamb Chops 2 brings the flavors of Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Islamabad to your home kitchen, seasoned by hand and shared with a generous spirit. This dish embodies the everyday luxury of well-spiced lamb, enjoyed at family dinners and festive occasions alike. It's a home recipe, passed down through generations, capturing the essence of Pakistani hospitality and culinary wisdom.

The lamb chops are tender, infused with a smoky hint of paprika, and finished with a bright squeeze of fresh lemon. Each bite is a harmonious blend of savory and zesty notes, balanced perfectly with a touch of fine sea salt and cracked black pepper. Serve them hot, and let the flavors speak for themselves at your table.

Ingredients

  • 8lamb chops
  • 2 tbspoil
  • 1 tsppaprika
  • to finishlemon
  • to tastefine sea salt and black pepper

Method

  1. Start by placing the 8 lamb chops on a clean surface. Generously season them with fine sea salt and black pepper on both sides. Then, sprinkle 1 tsp of paprika evenly over the chops, ensuring each piece is well-coated with the spices. This step infuses the meat with flavor and prepares it for browning.
  2. In a large, heavy-bottomed skillet, heat 2 tbsp of oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully add the lamb chops in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap. Allow them to brown undisturbed for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until they develop a deep, rich color. This browning process enhances the flavor and creates a crust that seals in the juices.
  3. Once the chops are browned, reduce the heat to medium-low. If you prefer braising, add a splash of water or stock to the pan, cover it with a lid, and let the chops simmer gently. Alternatively, if grilling, transfer the chops to a preheated grill and cook until they are tender. The meat should feel soft and yield easily to a fork, indicating it is cooked through.
  4. After the chops are cooked to your desired tenderness, remove them from the heat. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top to add brightness and balance the richness of the lamb. Taste a small piece and adjust the seasoning with more salt or pepper if needed.
  5. Serve the lamb chops immediately while they are hot. Pair them with rice, fresh bread, or a crisp salad to complement the flavors. Arrange them on a platter for a family-style meal, inviting everyone to share and enjoy the dish together.
