Olla Peruana de Lentejas

Peruvian Lentil Pot finds itself most at home in the comforting confines of family kitchens across Peru. This dish is less about ceremony and more about the everyday practice of bringing warmth and sustenance to the table. It's a staple on weeknights, a quiet hero of practicality and flavor that resonates with the rhythm of daily life. Crafted with simple pantry essentials, it reflects the intuitive, generous hand of the home cook.

Each spoonful offers a hearty embrace, where soft red lentils meld with the earthiness of cumin and the gentle heat of black pepper. The lemon adds a bright, tangy note that cuts through the richness of olive oil, creating a harmonious balance. Served with nothing more than a ladle and a deep bowl, it's a dish that invites sharing, where each diner adds their own pinch of salt, perfecting it to their taste.

Ingredients

  • 300 gramoslentejas rojas
  • 1cebolla — picada
  • 2 dientesajo
  • 1 cucharaditacomino
  • 1.5 litrosagua
  • 1 cucharadaaceite de oliva
  • 1limón — exprimido
  • al gustosal marina fina y pimienta negra
