Serves 4 to 6 Beverage vegan, Beverages

Guaraná Antarctica Glass

Guaraná Antarctica Glass is a staple at Brazilian family lunches, where the flavors of guaraná soda meet the convivial spirit of shared meals. It is the unpretentious accompaniment to hearty dishes, poured generously from its iconic green bottle. This home version reflects the casual, yet thoughtful approach of Brazilian cooks who judge by eye and taste, setting the table for laughter and conversation.

The taste is a vibrant mix of sweet and slightly tart notes, with the guaraná soda's bubbles providing a refreshing lift. Served chilled with ice and a squeeze of lime, it offers a crisp, invigorating contrast to rich, savory dishes, making it an essential element at any Brazilian gathering.

Ingredients

  • 330 mlguaraná soda
  • as neededice
  • lime — optional

Method

  1. Begin by chilling a 330 ml can or bottle of Guaraná Antarctica in the refrigerator for at least a few hours until it's thoroughly cold. This ensures that the soda retains its carbonation and refreshing qualities when served.
  2. Prepare a glass by filling it with ice cubes, ensuring the glass is about three-quarters full. The ice will keep the drink cold and enhance the refreshing experience.
  3. Carefully pour the chilled Guaraná Antarctica over the ice in the glass. Pour slowly to maintain the soda's carbonation and to avoid spilling.
  4. Cut a fresh lime into wedges. Squeeze one wedge over the soda, allowing the juice to mix with the drink, and then drop the wedge into the glass for added flavor.
  5. Gently stir the drink with a spoon or a straw to combine the lime juice with the soda without losing the fizz. The aroma of the lime should be subtly present, enhancing the guaraná's unique flavor.
  6. Serve the Guaraná Antarctica Glass immediately in a traditional glassware to preserve its effervescence and enjoy its crisp, refreshing taste.
