Korean Grilled Skewers 3

Serves 4 to 6 Appetizer meat, Appetizers

Korean Grilled Skewers 3

Korean Grilled Skewers 3 brings the essence of home cooking to the table, capturing the spirit of a family cook's intuitive touch. This dish is crafted with care, each element judged by hand rather than by measurement. Salt is sprinkled with familiarity, and lamb fat is embraced rather than trimmed, setting the stage for a meal that feels both intimate and generous. It's a true reflection of how Korean families enjoy their meals, with a focus on sharing and savoring together.

Expect a delightful combination of tender lamb cubes imbued with the warmth of cumin and the sweetness of onion. The olive oil carries each flavor seamlessly, while the fine sea salt and black pepper accentuate the lamb's richness. This dish should feel succulent and inviting, a comforting reminder of home-cooked meals meant to be enjoyed and shared.

Ingredients

  • 600 glamb cubes
  • 1onion
  • 2 tbspolive oil
  • 1 tspcumin
  • to tastefine sea salt and black pepper

Method

  1. Begin by cutting the onion into bite-sized pieces, similar in size to the lamb cubes, to ensure even cooking. Thread the lamb cubes and onion pieces alternately onto skewers, leaving a small gap between each piece to allow for even heat distribution.
  2. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of olive oil with 1 teaspoon of cumin. Stir well to create a fragrant marinade. Brush this mixture generously over the skewered lamb and onion, ensuring each piece is well-coated to enhance the flavor during grilling.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the skewers on the grill, leaving space between each skewer for even cooking. Grill the skewers, turning occasionally, until the lamb is browned and slightly charred on the edges, and the onions are tender and caramelized. The lamb should be juicy and slightly pink in the center, indicating it is cooked through.
  4. Once the skewers are cooked, remove them from the grill and immediately season with fine sea salt and black pepper to taste. The salt will enhance the natural flavors of the lamb and onion, while the pepper adds a subtle heat.
  5. Serve the skewers hot, encouraging diners to share and enjoy the communal aspect of this Korean home-cooked dish. The skewers should be juicy, flavorful, and aromatic, embodying the essence of Korean grilling.
